She's been nominated for Best Record of the Year and Best Song of the Year at this weekend's Grammy Awards.So it's no wonder Lorde struggled to contain her excitement as she touched down in Los Angeles on Wednesday ahead of the ceremony this weekend.The 17-year-old singer beamed from ear-to-ear as she was photographed making her way through LAX Airport.

The Royals hitmaker - real name Ella Yelich-O'Connor- looked cute in a blue and black leopard-print dress which she teamed with ankle boots for the journey.Lorde finished off her look with a pair of sunglasses and a pink fluffy handbag, and left her curly hair loose.The singer's flight came after she admitted that she often texts Taylor Swift for advice, and reached out when she wasn't sure what to buy her manager for Christmas.

Talking to Rolling Stone magazine, Lorde revealed: 'Taylor's super-good at this stuff. She's decorated her own houses for ages.'The pair became friends after Taylor sent Lorde roses to congratulate her when her hit single Royals topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.The kind gesture came as a surprise to the teenager who was 'floored' especially since it came after she'd insulted the blonde beauty.She previously said: 'Taylor Swift is so flawless and so unattainable, and I don't think it's breeding anything good in young girls.'However, when the Red star heard what the New Zealander had said, she took it in her stride and was flattered about the backhanded compliment.Lorde explained: 'She was like, "It's fine. If all you've done is call someone perfect, it's not that bad." '

But on Sunday, actress Kristin Chenoweth, 45, looked as though she was headed for a night out with the girls as she arrived at the Producers Guild Awards.

Kristen showed off her cleavage in a very daring navy blue and black ensemble.

The Glee star added a long gold necklace to her outfit and a sparkling pair of diamond earrings. 

It was reported last year that Kristin is set to play Jennifer Lopez's best friend in a new thriller called The Boy Next Door which will star the leading lady as a single mother who embarks on an illicit affair with a teenager, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The actress-and-singer will play a woman who recently split from her husband and finds herself attracted to her younger next door neighbour. However, when she calls off their illicit romance after a brief fling, the young teen becomes agitated, leading to dramatic consequences. 

The film has been likened to Michael Douglas and Glenn Close-starring classic, Fatal Attraction.

Chenoweth made her name as a stage actress, originating the part of Glinda the Good Witch in Broadway musical, Wicked. 

The actress has mostly starred in comedy and musical fare, making this her first foray into the gritty thriller genre.

It’s a night dedicated to honouring British servicemen and women. 

But while The Sun Military Awards at London’s National Maritime Museum was all about heroes, fashion dominated on the red carpet – with Holly Willoughby leading the way in a sweeping custom made ensemble from Suzanne Neville. 

Indeed, the TV presenter stood out in a busty red affair that exposed her ample cleavage as she posed for photos before sashaying inside. 

The intricate floor length design accentuated Holly’s shapely curves, while short semi-sheer cap sleeves and a distinctive embellished pattern gave the overall look an additional flourish.

Holly ensured her red corded outfit stood out by choosing her make-up from a subtle colour palette comprised of natural tones, while the lack of accessories ensured the sweetheart neckline offered a welcome focal point. 

The curvy presenter is a staunch advocate of  Neville, having previously sported a string of dresses from the British designer - amongst them a lacy black ensemble while presenting The Voice UK and a striking silver and black dress at the London premiere of Twilight

Holly was joined at the event by Myleene Klass, who looked stunning in a glittering printed evening dress with a semi-sheer chest design, through which her white bra was clearly evident.

The versatile star had clearly thought ahead in terms of accessorising the lime green and black panel design, opting for a smart black handbag and matching heels. 

Myleene’s dusky skin tone helped to balance the striking nature of her outfit, while tasteful black nail varnish rounded things off. 

The former Hear'Say singer was in typically high spirits, offering photographers a warm smile after arriving at the annual event.

Other celebrities in attendance tonight included Steve Coogan and Julie Walters who has been named as the winner of the Richard Harris Award at the event in Central London.

Previous winners include John Hurt, Daniel Day-Lewis and Helena Bonham Carter. The event, formally known as the Moet British Independent Film Awards, was hosted by James Nesbitt at Old Billingsgate.

She was named a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador on Tuesday to help children find their voice.

And Katy Perry looked suitably regal in an unusual ensemble later that evening.

The 29-year-old singer wore a red velvet gown and embellished cape as she posed at the organisation's ninth annual Snowflake Ball at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.

The Fireworks singer showed off her hourglass shape in the halter-neck frock, but covered her shoulders with a red cape.

Fittingly for the event, the cape sported a pattern of a giant gold snowflake.

Katy wore her jet-black hair in a glamorous curled 'do and added a slick of matte red lipstick.

The pop star was named UNICEF's Goodwill Ambassador earlier that day and she was clearly grateful for the opportunity.

'I believe young people have the power to change their own lives, with our help,' she said.

'I am honored to join UNICEF as a Goodwill Ambassador, and committed to doing everything I can to help children and adolescents who come from such different backgrounds but want the same thing: a brighter future,' she added.

Katy has already been working with UNICEF, having traveled with the organisation to Madagascar earlier this year.

Also at the event was Angie Harmon, who wowed in a risque black-and-white strapless gown.

The top featured ruching at the bust while the see-through netting material offered a glimpse of side-boob.

The 41-year-old wore her hair in a wispy updo and enhanced her glowing complexion with a dusting of pink blusher.
