Leona, who tweeted during the bash to say 'Funness at the essencemag party', showed just how to wow on the red carpet while cinching in her shape thanks to a metallic detail on the waist.
Not content with the envy-inducing dress, she also added some extra glitz to her ensemble with silver, sparkly stilettos.
Meanwhile Emeli, 26, also opted for something a little bling when she stepped out in a jewel-encrusted LBD and matching sandals.
The Sunderland-born songbird was honoured at the event held by Essence magazine, and later took to the stage to entertain guests.
She commented: 'What a privilege to have received the news that I will be part of celebrating powerful, strong, creative women in the music industry today', the publication reported.
