But Alessandra Ambrosio offered a decidedly different take on the holiday on Monday.
The 32-year-old was seen frolicking on a beach wearing skimpy lingerie and reindeer antlers during a Victoria's Secret shoot in Los Angeles.
The mother-of-two donned a satin red swimsuit in one set of pictures as she posed in the surf.
In one shot, she is seen lying on her back as she pedals her legs in the air.
In another, she wears a white jacket while standing with her feet apart, her arms flung wide and her head thrown back.
The supermodel also wore a light blue two-piece in the same style as the red number.
In one picture she is seen kneeling on the beach, clicking her fingers as if she were dancing.
In another shot she rolls around in the sand wearing a white T-shirt.
The Angel wore her highlighted brown hair in loose waves over her shoulders and sported bright red lipstick.
The red antlers added a playful touch, and featured small brown ears and a green Alice band.
Alessandra appeared to be in a buoyant mood during the shoot as she giggled and gamely struck various active poses.
The catwalk star is the mother of five-year-old daughter Anja and two-year-old son Noah and has been engaged to businessman Jamie Mazur since 2008.
Last month, Alessandra was one of the stars of the Victoria's Secret Fashion show in New York.
The Brazilian beauty has been an ambassador of the brand since 2004, walking the runway for the brand for the first time in 2005.
