It was only on Tuesday that Australian celebrity magazine Who confirmed Shane Warne and Liz Hurley had called off their engagement.
A day later and Shane's former wife and mother of his children, Simone Callahan, was spotted visiting her ex's house in Melbourne, and was wearing a rather revealing top for the occasion.
Shane arrived back in Melbourne on the same day, landing at the airport with his youngest daughter Summer and one of her friends. He had been in Perth commentating on the Ashes cricket series, which Australia won.
'I just told a friend I felt 'fine': apparently definition is F***ed up, insecure, Neurotic and Emotional. Ha ha.'
'Hey, nobody's perfect. she added only minutes later.
Liz and Shane reportedly decided to call time on their relationship following months of speculation.
The news came as the cricketer posted a particularly philosophical tweet on his own Twitter page: 'The past should be the past & stay there. It destroys the future. 'Live life for what tomorrow has to offer, not for what happened yesterday.'
A source close to the couple told Hello! magazine: ‘It is very sad and they tried to make it work but there were just too many issues in the way.
According to the magazine, the couple’s break-up has not been caused by work commitments, since the pair have often had to spend time apart while they are working around the world.
'There are definitely no feelings there,' she said at the time. 'Shane and I gave it a good shot and we’re much better the way things are as friends. I hope he and Elizabeth can work things out as they seemed happy together.'
Liz and Shane, who got engaged in 2011 after a year long romance, will now be spending Christmas apart. Elizabeth will be with her 11-year-old son Damian at the £6million 13-bedroom Donnington Hall mansion in Hertfordshire she and Shane had bought together.
The Australian former Test cricketer, 44, will be in his former family home Down Under with his three children.
It is not known whether they will be joined by Simone for a family Christmas.
